El piloto mexicano Daniel Suárez usó su cuenta de Twitter para explicar lo que sucedió al final de la Etapa 2 de la Monster Energy Open, en la que Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr., de Richard Petty Motorsports dejó fuera a su Ford Mustang No. 41 de Stewart-Haas Racing.

Wallace Jr. y Suárez pelearon hasta el final de la Etapa 2 en busca de la victoria y el boleto a la Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race.
Wallace Jr. se adelantó en la recta trasera y luego pareció cerrarle el camino a Suárez, cuando el piloto mexicano parecía encaminado a la victoria por el carril interior.
“Casi le entregó (el liderato a Suárez) en la (curva) 4, así que para mi fue automovilismo duro”, le dijo Wallace Jr. a FOX Sports 1. “Todos saben que Daniel y yo somos muy cercanos (amigos), así que espero que no haya malos sentimientos. Sabíamos lo que estaba en juego y sé que él habría hecho lo mismo”.
